Our research activities

Transportation System Relying on Seasonal Natural Conditions:

There are transportation systems relying on the seasonally changing natural conditions; Navigations in Amazon Basin in Rainy season, Winter road on frozen rivers in East Siberia, and so on. In order to assure the system under the coming climate changes, We are studying on middle term expectation of the temperature and flow/ice conditions, seasonal transport planning method, as well as remote-sensing technique for the waterway/ice depth assessment.

Transportation Network in the Aging Society Affected by ICT:

The demand for interregional transportation is considered to shrink, due to the aging and population decreases, and to the substitution by electronic information exchanges. It is important to strengthen the accessbility and reliability of transport system, even though the amount of resources and energies are decreased for transportation. Therefore, we are studying about the passenger's behavior affected by ICT technology, a network planning model considering the multi-modal transfers linking the cities without direct service, and so on.

Stocking, Pricing and Locational Behaviors of Recycling Companies :

To build a sustainable society, recycling industry is well organized to cope with traditional manufacturing and retail industries. We propose economic models to describe the stocking, pricing and locational behavior of a representative company in recycling industries.
